about the artist

Jones "Bones" Liddell of Creeptreats is a queer and disabled interdisciplinary artist based on Dakhota land, in Minneapolis. They hold a B.A. in Technical Theatre with a minor in Vocal Performance from MSU-Moorhead (summa cum laude, 2013), and have acted as first-hand to fashion designer, Samantha Rei, since an internship in 2006.

Throughout an already rich career, Mx. Liddell has personally designed, constructed, and managed costumes for over 15 professional and student theatrical stage productions in the region. In both North Dakota and Minnesota, they have instructed and led teams of student artists in schools and out-of-school programming for K-12 youth (particularly emphasizing the importance of art and environmental outreach). Additionally, they have acted as technical support in makeup, hair/wig, and props for independent films and regional opera houses.

Outside of creating candy-coated monsters for a living, Jones has worked in several industries, including social work, education, and information tech. They now keep busy as a freelance designer, costume and prop technician, and animal enthusiast.
